Background Information

The uniqueness of this program is its emphasis on the application of Business Information Technology to organizations. The program combines problem-based and competence-based learning approaches. It is an innovative blended-learning program designed for IT and business professionals and other graduates with experience in the industry who intend to enhance their academic and professional expertise. The program is also designed to utilize a symbiosis of study and work as students undergo training combining scientific knowledge and practical orientation while working at their current job. The program is intended to produce ethically and socially responsible business professionals who can draw on technical and leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, innovative professional practices, and strategic and organizational skills to create successful business intelligence solutions.

The seminar sessions will expose the students to emerging issues and IT solutions. The dissertation would allow students to identify business intelligence problems, research such problems, and prescribe solutions. 

The program will draw from the knowledge of leading academics and professionals from the industry to offer both comprehensive, research-driven theoretical frameworks and practice-oriented knowledge and technical skills to our students. 

 Aim

This Master of Science in Business Information Technology is suitable for students with a technical background seeking to develop management and ethical leadership skills to be able to apply business intelligence solutions to business problems. The program aims to produce technically grounded graduates to become senior leaders with expertise in IT-enabled business innovations who can engineer new services, radically improve the way businesses work using IT, and provide a platform for continued learning.

 Objectives of the program:

Businesses today cannot function effectively without IT and business intelligence that puts them ahead of others. To ensure the success of the Ghana government’s digitization agenda, the country needs a skilled workforce who understands the dynamics of harnessing information technology to transform private and governmental organizations. The objectives of this program, therefore, are to:
