Justice Fletcher Aquanu | Class of 2026
When the opportunity came to embark on community service for the 2023 International Youth Day celebration, I was glad and thought of doing something that will benefit many people in my community so I chose the health center which serves the whole community. One of the key elements that propelled me into this journey was the unwavering support and guidance from the Student Life & Career Services Department. The department did not only equipped me with knowledge but also inspired me to apply that knowledge for the betterment of our society Before embarking on this community service endeavor, I took the initiative to contact key figures in our community; the assembly member and the Unit Committee of the Bimpongso/Nkwankyemaso electoral area and the headmaster of Bimpongso D/A School, and the authorities at the Bimpongso Health Center. Their trust and permission were essential to carry out my project.
With the permission of the authorities and the community leaders including the headmaster, I came along with a group of enthusiastic school children, dedicated our time and effort to serve the Bimpongso Health Center. We weeded, swept, cleaned gutters, planted grasses and flowers to transform the surroundings to create a welcoming environment for patients and staff. The sense of accomplishment was profound, but what touched my hearts the most were the smiles on the faces of those at the health center and the genuine gratitude from my community. It was a testament to the power of education and community service.
