Dr. Bernice Welbeck is a career Public Servant with over 30 years’ experience in the civil/public service administration, working mainly in labour administration. She has served on various committees of labour including the National Tripartite Committee and the Tripartite Technical Committee on the new Labour Law. She is presently the Director of Administration and Human Resource Management at the National Labour Commission. She holds an MBA, Tulane International University, A.B Freeman School of Business, New Orleans, USA; a Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM) and a Doctorate in Business Administration in Leadership and Governance in Organizations, from the Atlantic International University, USA.
Anita is the Managing Director of OML Africa, an International Human Capital Management Consulting Firm. She is also a Director and Certified trainer of STSG. Anita is the founder of Ghana Women in Business & Leadership Association (GWIB). She is also a mediator and an arbitrator for the National Labour Commission of Ghana and an executive member of the Association of Ghana, women in business.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and Social Research from London Metropolitan University and a Masters’ in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck University (University of London). She is also an accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK), the British Psychological Society and an approved level A and B tester in psychometric testing and a practicing Organizational Psychologist. She was the first female certified ILO (International Labour Organization) SCORE trainer in Ghana and an expert in aligning the workforce to the needs of the business. She has further served on the board of trustees for several UK-based charities and runs the Africa Associates of Human Resource Leaders (AAHRL) network, which boasts of over 3,000 members from across the continent. The AAHRL network is part of Anita’s commitment to advocating high standards in Human Resource practice and Human Resource development in Africa.
Yaw serves as an HR Practitioner and is experienced in HR strategy, execution, stakeholder management and team leadership. Yaw has over a decade’s experience driving HR best practice, out of which six years has been with a single employer; one of Ghana’s leading banks. Experienced in both generalist and specialist advisory roles. Yaw has worked across the whole HR life cycle, including the creation of an HR team from scratch.
Yaw continuously develops his proficiency, applying the latest methodology and industry consensus to generate pragmatic solutions to real-world challenges. At one of Ghana’s leading Bank, he was instrumental to a transformation of culture, process and behavior, a key member of the leadership team that remodeled HR into a modern business partnering department.
Yaw graduated with a BA (Hons) in HR Management from University of Northampton) in 2006 and then a Masters in Personnel & Development (CIPD) from De Montfort University in
2007.
With an Executive MBA in Marketing Management and recognized as a Chartered Marketer, Emelia Ainooson has carved a name for herself by unleashing acute imagination and out-of-the-box thinking to align business objectives with creative strategies and expressions.
Having garnered extensive experience across industry, agency, and development initiatives, Emelia’s portfolio boasts collaborations with esteemed organizations such as USAID, UKAID, and the European Union, working on projects spanning the African continent. Her expertise lies in crafting sustainable strategic communication and visibility blueprints, seamlessly integrating traditional and digital media to achieve cohesive and highly effective communications.
A natural educator, Emelia is an adjunct faculty member at Ashesi University, where she teaches the principles of Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship. In her spare time, she serves as a sought-after training consultant, empowering organizations like the MasterCard Scholars Program, CAMFED, Developers in Vogue, BlendYourLearning, and Herona. Through her expertise, she nurtures the capabilities of young women and girls in areas such as public speaking, marketing, digital communications, and entrepreneurship.
Emelia’s influence extends far beyond academia and training. As a consummate professional host and speaker, she has graced stages worldwide, including two inspiring TED talks, captivating audiences with her insightful perspectives.
Beyond her professional accolades, Emelia’s unwavering dedication, collaborative spirit, and passion for positive impact have won her widespread admiration. Her ability to foster genuine relationships with team members and partners has been instrumental in driving the success of numerous projects under her leadership.
Currently, Emelia Ainooson holds a pivotal role as the Media Development and Private Sector Partnerships Specialist on the USAID-funded ASBC Activity, where she leads media engagement and has hosted the Second Gentleman of the United States in Ghana. Additionally, she serves as a Communications Consultant at DFS Lab, a pioneering organization devoted to driving innovation and growth in the financial technology sector.
She’s also a co-founder of a boutique communications consultancy in Ghana that supports SMEs with communications, marketing, and advertising, sing advisory services.
Maataa Safoa Boakye is an accomplished HR leader with over a decade of experience in the fields of human resources, customer service and people management. As the Head of People & Development at Remoteli, Maataa oversees all aspects of, employee engagement, performance management, talent acquisition, employee culture and organizational development.
Maataa’s career began with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from University of Ghana, followed by a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from University of Ghana Business School. A certificate in Human Resource Management from University of Minnesota, Senior Professional in Human Resource International (SPHRi)-HRCI – USA. Her educational background, combined with her strategic vision and empathetic leadership style, has driven significant cultural transformations and operational efficiencies in every organization she has been part of.
Maataa is particularly passionate about creating workplaces where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work.
Outside of work, Maataa is an advocate for mental health awareness, personal development and actively volunteers with local church community. She enjoys dancing, action movies, reading, and spending time with her family.
