I entered Palm University College fueled by a passion for IT, which seemed out of reach during high school because pursuing a tertiary degree in Information Technology is very expensive in Ghana. Due to financial constraints, I almost buried that dream of pursuing higher education in Ghana in IT until 2022 when I received admission and a scholarship opportunity from the Palm University Foundation (Naa Amerley Palm Education Foundation). I grabbed that opportunity.
What drew me to Palm was its unique BIT program, a fusion of IT and business, and its scholarship program for students who have the passion to pursue such degrees. Now, as a sophomore approaching my second semester with a CGPA over 3.7, my journey at Palm has been nothing short of transformative.
In just three academic semesters, I’ve evolved from a student with minimal knowledge to someone with a profound understanding of IT. This development has been possible because of the scholarship opportunity the Palm University Foundation gave me to study for a tertiary degree. Palm University Foundation’s provision and the support systems at Palm have been instrumental in my academic growth. I’ve not only gained theoretical insight but also practical skills, enabling me to develop basic websites and write fundamental codes.
Academically, the structures and systems in place have fostered an environment where learning is not just about memorization but also about real-world application. My CGPA is a testament to the effectiveness of Palm’s approach to education. Beyond the grades, I’m now on the path to turning my career goal of establishing an IT company into a reality. Palm University College has been the catalyst for this transformation, providing me with the tools and knowledge needed to pursue my passion for IT and business.
Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunities and support I’ve received at Palm. The unique BIT program has not only broadened my academic horizons but has also empowered me to embark on a career that seamlessly integrates my love for IT and business.
