Entry Requirements

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

  1. Applicants should possess a first degree or equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum of second-class (lower division CGPA=3.0) in a computing-related subject such as BSc Information Technology, BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Studies, or a Business Administration degree with a specialization in Management Information Systems.
  2. First-degree holders with second class (lower division) from other disciplines with a postgraduate diploma in Information Technology or any Computing-related subject.
  3. Applicants with a third class in a computing-related field with a minimum of three years of working experience in any sector would be admitted after passing an entrance examination and an interview. Such applicants would be tested on critical writing skills.
  4. Applicants with third class without working experience in the business intelligence sector would be admitted if such applicants possess a post-graduate diploma in the relevant area

DEGREE PROGRAMS

Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects including Elective Mathematics for BSc. Computer Science candidates.

Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects including Hardware & Networking or Information Technology or Information Systems for BSc. Computer Science candidates.  

Six(6) IGCSE (G.C.E. O-Level) passes including Mathematics, English, and Science are required together with at least three ‘A’ Level passes (with grade A-D). The candidate should have obtained a pass in either Elective/Add/Further Mathematics or Statistics at the A level for the BSc. Computer Science program.

Applicant must have credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) or West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).

Applicants should have a minimum of grade 4 at a higher level in three (3) subjects relevant to the program of choice. Applicants should, in addition, have a minimum of grade 4 in English/ Literature and Mathematics.

Applicants should have a Final Grade Point of 3.0.

  • The applicant must be at least 25 years old, and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
  • Applicant must pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution (English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test).
  • There will be exemptions for mature applicants with credit passes in English, Mathematics for SSCE, WASSCE or O’ Level.
  • Applicants for the BSc. Computer Science program  must have worked in an IT related role for at least 2 years or has a relevant professional technical certification.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMS

Credit Passes (A1-D7) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects

Credit Passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus two (2) relevant elective subjects.
